Last Saturday we went to the annual get-together at the Hicks farm in Lula. It is always such fun and all of the kiddos LOVE it. There must be around 200? people that come. Lunch is potluck at noon and supper is grilled hot dogs plus left-overs. There are wagon and buggy rides, goats, llamas, the HUGH hog, donkeys, horse shoes, fishing, paintball, etc to be enjoyed. It was soooo cold this year. The high that day was 49*, so everyone was bundled up.The bonfire felt good. Two days later we went back to 74* days! We all appreciate the effort that Alvin and Joann, plus their daug/SIL Judy and Mike put into hosting this event. There are lots of pictures here for memory's sake.
Welcome to the Hicks farm.

Eating grilled hotdogs for supper

The ending of a perfect day! Joseph said "I didn't have enough time to play!" This was 7 hours after arriving!
Lora had a birthday this week and we had a little family celebration dinner on Thursday night. Brendon cooked spaghetti (our double ovens are out, remember) and salad. Lemon pie was the birthday "cake". Joseph
loves to sing happy birthday and see candles blown out!

Lora and Kelley, plus our baby boy bump due to arrive around Feb. 4! He goes by the name of Geronimo at the present time. I guess we'll get a big surprise if they really name him that...but I really don't think that will happen!!

That looks and sounds like so much fun!
I was just wondering about baby G...fun to see the photo!
how fun! maybe you can answer a question for me. what is the purpose of llamas? are they just a pet? i was asking my hubby the other day & he didn't know either.
These are just for pets, I assume. However, they are used as pack animals in other countries and also their wool is used.
Great memories for everyone! Thanks for sharing your photos. Nice to see a pic of Richard, too!
